The Brewery

Where it all started.

JHS Traditional Brewers was founded by Jonathan Smith formerly of Wolverhampton & Dudley breweries.

Starting out in old factory warehouse in Wombourne, Staffordshire we used reclaimed brewing equipment from the now defunct Danelaw brewery in Nottinghamshire.

Our first beer.

Our first brew was Amy's Rose a 4% mild named after Jonathan's daughter Amy Rose Smith. It is still brewed and remains a popular beer today.

Our current premises.

The brewery is now located in a former barn and stable block at the The Fox Inn, Worcestershire. This same premises is believed to have been used to brew beer for The Fox Inn during the 16th Century.

Our brewing mission.

Our aim at JHS is to produce beers made from the best traditional ingredients. (None of our beers contain sugars or hop substitutes).

We plan to have our beers available in a growing number of local pubs to draw drinkers attention to the unspoilt taste of our traditionally brewed beers.

Regular brews.

Our regularly brewed beers are: Foxy Lady, Amy's Rose and Snooty Fox.

Awards & commendations.

We have recieved several commendations in our short brewing history. Our Adams Green Hop beer was awarded first place at the Tenbury Wells Hop Festival.
